After visiting Yehliu's Geo Park, we took the bus back to Tamsui's direction. But instead of waiting for the last station, we stopped at Baishawan to visit the small white sand beach.
The sky was cloudy, something unusual in Taiwan, but the weather was enjoyable. Little breeze, not too humid nor too heavy. The sea had a really pretty pastel color and the beach was not that crowded.

We sat on a small wooden platform to eat dinner. Groups of friends and families were having fun in front of us, most of them taking a bath fully clothed. I noticed small buoys floating around the swimmers and my friend explained that people couldn't go behind. They had to stay in the security zone or the coast guards would whistle at them. I was kind of surprised because the safe zone was really small.
When our bellies were full, we took off to walk along the sea, feet under water. A siren started to blow around 5pm with a robot lady like voice asking all the swimmers to go back to the land. It sounded like an apocalyptic scene, it was really funny ! It was actually possible to swim after that but the siren was like a signal to inform people that coast guards were leaving the beach, so it was not advised to keep swimming as no one could help if someone encountered a problem.
We kept walking in a bunch of big rocks direction. The sun was already starting to set, it was sooo wonderful to walk in that gorgeous scenery. We climbed on top of the rocks to admire the view, drinking beer and casually talking. This moment was one of the most relaxing moments of my life. I loved it. We could see the small shops of Baishawan on the background, the sea stretching forever and there was nearly no one anymore on the beach. Soooo peaceful.
After that small break, we kept going until we saw a small abandoned building. With the pastel sky and the swing hanging up water, it really looked like a zombie decor, ah ha ha.
We followed a small path and ended up in front of a rocky place. Of course, we walked and climbed until we saw a stone notice at the end of the shore. SJ and our friend went to it to read but I stayed behind, on top of the tallest rock so I could have a moment for myself. I admired the view again, it was breathtaking. I could see the town behind rocks and sea in a beautiful shade of blues. The wind was blowing but after that walk, I felt really hot. It was awesome.
Kiss your loved one on top of that rock and you will never forget it, trust me. We felt like the only ones in the world, standing a top of everything and everyone. So perfect.

So is going to Baishawan beach worth it ? For me, yes and yes again. I love calm places and Baishawan was so relaxing I couldn't believe it. It's not that far from Taipei and it's the perfect place to take a break with your friend or to spend a romantic time with your other half.
