Okay. I grew up eating thaï, lao and viet food so I tend to be REALLY exigeant with that kind of cuisine. After one year and a half living in Busan, I really missed eating vietnamese food. I passed this restaurant many times on my way to the beach and I heard from a friend that this place was not bad, so I was really impatient to visit Saigon. I was expecting a lot... a big mistake because the deception was even stronger. The atmosphere inside was a bit cold. Waiters were polite but you could feel that they did that job only for money (I mean they didn't feel warm or welcoming. They looked way too bored). Anyway. On some table you could sit on the floor, I like this kind of low tables. And the model with vietnamese traditionnal clothes was really cool. But apart from that, the interior was just plain. |
The Com Thit Lon Nuong is a dish with rice and meat. Also disappointing. The meat was not that bad... but way too dry. The picture showed cucumber and carrots, I didn't get any. Even worse : I didn't get any fish sauce (the one you usually dip your spring rolls in). And this sauce is in most of vietnamese dishes !!
