Just drinks after work, Drinks after work. What's it gonna hurt, To have a little drink after work? It's been a long day after work. I am going to be frank with you and tell you that the only thing that kept me awake during work was the thought of having a cold beer after. We decided to look for a drinking place just around our neighborhood (we're called LazyViruses for a reason, you know). | |
Yakan MaeJoem (야간매점) is a Korean restaurant that serves both Korean and Western foods at the same time. For those who have been following us for awhile, you might have noticed that the three of us have completely different food preferences. Mimi prefers noodles and westerns while Robby is more a rice person. As for me, I love anything that comes with chili sauce. (What?! I'm Malaysian after all). |
Apparently, Koreans like to eat something spicy while drinking. Most of the people in the restaurant ordered the Spicy Seafood FishCake Soup that comes with the price of 12,000won. Not to mention a lot of alcohols afterward. =P
As for us, we ordered something cheaper, like always. The picture on the top left is called "Korean Stir fried vegetables with dumpling", at least that's how we called it. It is called "KkanPung ManDu" on the menu with the price of 5,000 won.
What really surprised me was the 7,000 won Garlic gorgonzola pizza. The strong taste of walnut mixed surprisingly well with the sweetness of honey. Personally for me, the fusion of Korean and Western style of the pizza was contradicting but delicious at the same time.
As for the 5,000 won cheese sticks, it was good. But just good. I mean it could be better if the restaurant put in more cheeses as we couldn’t really feel the milky taste in the cheese sticks.
For me, the restaurant was really good as a place to have some drinks and little talks with your friends. We talked a lot that night, just the three of us. We shared the troubles that we were facing, the relationships problem and bla bla bla...
A cozy atmosphere, a glass of cold beer, and not to mention, good companies.
Yes, sometimes it sucks to live abroad and stay away from your loved ones back home, but with a bunch of perfect roomies, it might not be that bad after all.
